Craft Biennial Exhibition Ambassadors

Craft Biennial Exhibition Ambassadors
Harewood House
Description of the role:

This is an opportunity to take part in the third Harewood Craft Biennial: Create / Elevate as an Exhibition Ambassador.

Harewood House Trust actively supports and collaborates with artists from diverse backgrounds and between 28 June and 20 October will showcase a range of arts and crafts techniques from 16 British and international artists. This contemporary exhibition provides new ways to engage with the centuries of craft artistry embedded within the interiors of Harewood House.

Your role will be to chat with our visitors in the House about both the individual exhibits and the history of Harewood House, its collections and the people who have lived there.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

No previous volunteering experience is required but the role would suit someone who has an interest in craft and its impact it has on all our lives. For students studying art and design it would be an ideal opportunity to develop transferable employability skills.

Practical information:

Can offer morning ( 10.20am - 1.15pm) and afternoon (1.05pm - 3.30pm) shifts most days of the week but are particularly keen to attract volunteers at a weekend when the House is at its busiest. As a minimum would expect someone to volunteer once every two weeks.

Provide on the role training and a volunteer buddy until someone feels confident to host a room on their own.

Reimburse travel expenses up to £10 per day. Harewood House is well served by the 36 bus route from Harrogate to Leeds.
