I Want to Volunteer

Find your ideal Volunteering Opportunity

HADCA helps people in the Harrogate District to find volunteering opportunities.

The Value and Joy of Volunteering

Every year between 1 – 7 June we celebrate the positive difference volunteering makes to everyone involved. Volunteers’ Week highlights and recognises the contribution of people who share their time, passion, skills and enthusiasm to do something positive for local people and our places all year round, sometimes behind the scenes.

The theme this year is ‘A time to say thanks.’

Celebration of Volunteering 2020

This year our volunteers have never been more needed and they have stepped up to provide vital services to local people who have no-one else to turn to.

Become a Here to Help Volunteer

Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, HADCA has been supporting people in Harrogate and Ripon to help them stay safe and well at home. We've been recruiting volunteers who are able to spare a couple of hours a week (or more or less) to look out for people in our communities struggling without local family and friends to support them.

Looking out for our neighbours and staying safe

With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the UK, it  is hard for people to maintain their social connections. Looking out for our neighbours has never been more important. We can all do our bit to ensure that people who need a little extra help are not forgotten at this time and remain safe – be they family, friends or neighbours.

Spreading Christmas Kindness all year around

Christmas can be a time when people are at their most generous but the many people supported by local charities need our help all year around. Volunteering is not just for Christmas.
