CAN COMMUNITY FIT HELP YOU?

Could you do with some extra helping hands?

We are always on the lookout for groups (who we call our "FitPartners") that need a little extra help with ad-hoc jobs that they would otherwise find difficult to complete.  We help charities, sports clubs, schools, churches, community groups, environmental projects and not-for-profits.

Our team meets on a Wednesday evening and travels to you on foot.  We arrive around 6:30pm and can work until 7:30.  We usually bring around 6 - 12 unskilled but enthusiastic volunteers who are willing to tackle most things.  Any equipment needs to be provided for us, but we will bring gardening/protective gloves if needed!

We are currently able to help within around a 2 mile radius of Harrogate town centre.

Some examples of the things we have done are:

  • delivering leaflets
  • moving furniture and equipment
  • clearing and tidying outside and inside areas and play equipment
  • painting outdoor furniture and planters
  • basic gardening including weeding, digging ponds, clearing paths, raking grass, balsam bashing
  • packing gift bags
  • litter picking
  • preparing craft materials
  • making and putting up decorations and displays
  • peeling potatoes for a community meal
  • tidying school libraries
  • unpacking deliveries
  • sorting donations

Contact Anna by E-mail or on 01423 813095 if you would like to arrange a visit from the Community Fit team or be added to our mailing list

WHAT OUR FITPARTNERS SAY:

The group were fantastic. Got through my list of jobs - even the reserve list and brilliant clearing up.  (West Park United Reform Church)

We are so grateful for your support, what you manage to achieve in an hour would ordinarily be left for me to do alone, and would take days! (Oatlands Community Centre)

Your team of volunteers are, as always, amazing and we love welcoming them to RTS. Please let us know when you are booking summer term visits as we would welcome their help with some gardening tasks. Thank you again for all of your support. (Richard Taylor School)
