If you involve volunteers in Ripon and would like to see more young people helping out with your project please visit our Power of 10 page. Here you'll find out about our volunteering scheme to inspire young people to seek out opportunities they may not usually explore, building confidence, skills, and good well-being practices along the way. The Power of 10 scheme can help you benefit from the energy, new perspectives and ideas of young volunteers.
Background to the Group
The Connecting Ripon Network held its first meeting in January 2014. The network comprises voluntary, community and faith sector organisations which have come together to identify what was special about community life in Ripon and its surrounding villages and to agree on priority themes that could help strengthen community connections.
The three themes identified were:
- Celebrate and strengthen volunteering in Ripon and its surrounding villages
- Support the development of inter-generational projects which benefit local communities
- Increase awareness of what’s happening in terms of new opportunities to learn; earn; socialise; volunteer and to raise support for good causes through new media such as social media and superfast broadband.
The network aimed to contribute towards the development of a more ‘Connected Ripon’ as part of the Ripon City Plan.
The Connecting Ripon Network is supported by a financial contribution from Ripon City Council.
