The Power of Community - AGM 2024

The Power of Community - AGM 2024

Thank you to all members, friends, partners and supporters who joined us at our 2024 AGM at The Wesley Centre in Harrogate to look back over a year of challenges and new positive partnerships.

Our CEO Frances and Chair Helen.

Frances reviewed the year for HADCA and our presentation highlighted achievements in both our community action and frontline community services work. Everything we do is underpinned by our commitment to connecting and collaborating to support people whatever challenges they face.

We shared how our new partnership projects including Help Out Harrogate are boosting volunteering, making a positive impact, and how our dedicated HELP (Harrogate Easier Living Project) staff team and volunteers continue to provide both practical and emotional support, making a real difference for people who don't know where else to turn.

Our inspiring young Power of 10 Volunteering Ambassadors, with project co-ordinator Jo.

We were all inspired by Zoe & Bethany our amazing young Power of 10 Ambassadors and Janet, who found joining our Community Fit crew was a life changing experience.

We also welcomed Jackie Rowbottom who shared a presentation explaining how the Macmillan Cancer Support team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is working with us and other local community organisations to connect people living with and beyond cancer to support and activities for their physical and emotional recovery.

On  World Mental Health Day and World Homeless Day we were pleased to be able to share the opportunity for attendees to go along to the Harrogate Homeless Project's Open Day after our meeting and to display information from local mental health and housing charities.

Our HADCA Impact Report gives examples of how we have made a positive difference in Harrogate District over the last year. We hope to demonstrate how the actions of our amazing volunteers and staff team feed in to creating a stronger local community where people are able to access activities, services, advice or connections, enabling them to lead fulfilling and active lives and make a positive contribution to local community life, in line with our vision.

Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement.

Our volunteer team from Crowne Plaza

A massive thank you to our wonderful volunteer team from Crowne Plaza Harrogate for their fantastic support again this year. It was lovely to have them along and they worked so hard setting up, serving drinks and clearing up with smiles on their faces. We didn’t have to worry about anything with such a skilled team involved!
