This role is situated in Wellspring’s reception area and involves providing a warm and friendly welcome to clients coming for counselling. It includes answering the phone and dealing with in-person queries on reception, as well as helping to support the team to keep our premises clean, tidy and inviting. Some basic clerical tasks such as photocopying, shredding documents and taking payments may also be required from time to time.
Welcomers need to be good communicators with friendly, approachable and confident personalities. They are often the first point of contact for clients, so our Welcomers need to be sensitive, respectful and able to maintain confidentiality.
We have some parking but we are also on a good bus route (the number 1 , between Harrogate and Knaresborough) and close to Starbeck Station. Volunteers usually commit to a regular slot of 3-4 hours per week but we are also looking for Welcomers who could cover absences from time to time.

Wellspring is a counselling and training centre in Starbeck. We provide affordable psychological support to adults, children and young people in distress and promote good mental health. We work to restore hope, develop resilience and facilitate positive change.
Wellspring also offers a variety of high quality training events throughout the year designed to enhance our personal wellbeing and ability to support others.
The 8 week Empower course is for teens aged 13-18 to explore, explain and improve self-esteem.
