We have a whole range of volunteering opportunities available within our 3 Scouting sections: Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Whether you're interested in being a Section Leader, or occasionally helping support or run Scouting sessions, get in touch! Here at the 1st Knaresborough (Castle) Scout Group, we provide Scouting to young people in and around the Knaresborough area of North Yorkshire. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more.
As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. Each week, The Scouts give over 460,000 young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future. We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
We’re a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures. We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always.
We believe that young people have a vast wealth of untapped potential that is not always utilised. In order to reach their full potential, they need to be challenged physically and mentally in a supportive environment. Only through experiencing and overcoming challenges and hardship do they realise they have the resources within themselves to be successful in life.
All Scouts are different. They have varied abilities and strengths so their challenges will be different, but it is only by working together do we become more than individuals. We aim to develop ourselves, each other, and society as a whole.
