Ripon Together was set up to make Ripon an even better place to live and work in.
Although all local organisations publicise their events in many different places, we need to gather all events together so that visitors and local residents alike can be informed of upcoming events. There are currently two sources of such information. The first is the Visit Ripon website for visitors and the other is RiponTogether.com for local people. The aim of this role is to ensure that both lists are up to date and accurate. Keep a watching brief on social media. Keep an ongoing record of upcoming events.
Review the ongoing record each month and update an offline list of events with the date, location and time of each event, and a hyperlink to the source.
Carry out a monthly review a pre-defined list of sources (such as specific local social media pages, ticketing websites, local organisation web sites) each month to update the offline list.
Check the offline list carefully before publication.
Publish the list to the Ripon Together web site, Facebook and Insta pages.
Check the list for the coming month against the Visit Ripon website and report any missing items to Ripon BID.
We appreciate this is a volunteering role and we are open to welcoming anyone who would like to learn new skills, however the following existing skills would be really useful:
Knowledge of web sites and social media.
Ideally web design skills
Communication skills
Good team worker
Reliable and organised
Be willing to be DBS checked
Ability to follow safeguarding policy as a representative of Ripon Together
Have some local knowledge of Ripon and the community
This is a role with a regular monthly cycle. It can be completely managed from home, so suits anyone with caring responsibilities.
