Projects which support our local ecology, support care for our environment and the drive to Net Zero form an important part of Ripon Together’s brief. We are looking for a chair, secretary and project workers. The successful applicants will organise and drive such projects on Ripon Together’s behalf, as well as identifying, celebrating and supporting the work of the many other organisations in our town which already support those aims. You will be responsible for supporting the eco group to be acting as a conduit to deliver the York and North Yorkshire Routemap To Carbon Negative. The focus will be on using funds from the Net Zero Funds etc to meet the aims of investments as follows:
o create a pipeline of net zero projects that will drive economic growth
o create jobs
o reduce energy costs for businesses and communities
o leverage further investment for the region
We appreciate this is a volunteering role and we are open to welcoming anyone who would like to learn new skills, however the following existing skills would be really useful:
Leadership skills (especially chair)
Ability to encourage and motivate busy people to become involved in long term projects.
Communication skills
Good team worker
Reliable and organised
Be willing to be DBS checked
The role can be as large or small as each individual would be happy to commit. Meetings will be minimal. Actions and project delivery are what is important.
We are looking for 'doers' rather than meetings people.
