To support our small team in Harrogate with occasional support at events, markets for example.
This role will involve sorting and ensuring our offline stock for sale is up to date and ready to take to venue for sale along with price lists or tags. It is preferable that you drive and are able to carry bags and boxes and help to set up stalls and dismantle afterwards.
We work, where possible, to match opportunities to skills so please let us know of any experience or specific interests that you have!
When you volunteer at Open Arms, you will become part of a passionate, friendly and flexible team who are united by their commitment to building brighter futures for vulnerable children in Malawi. You will be accompanied by another experienced volunteer or member of our team initially.
You will be working alongside staff members, trustees and fellow volunteers so there will always be support available to you.
This role would suit someone who:
• Enjoys meeting people and talking to them to promote the charity and with a view to selling items and raising funds for Open Arms Malawi where possible.
• Must drive own car and hold a full clean license.
• Can transport and assist with fetching, carrying and setting up stalls and dismantling after the event(s).
• Has evidence of managing sales and responsibility taking payments.
This role needs to be carried out both in our Harrogate office (Community House, 46-50 East Parade, HG1 5RR), to prepare for events and then off site at various locations, mostly in the Harrogate area to support

At Open Arms we believe that every child has the right to survival and development. We provide essential care for Malawi's orphaned and abandoned children, giving them the chance to achieve their potential within the love and security of a home. Our principal aim is to support the return of fit and healthy toddlers to their extended families. We work closely with local communities to build brighter futures for children and their families for generations to come.
We were set up when a local Harrogate family moved out to Malawi in 2000 to take over the running of a small infant home. We have partnered closely with Ashville College, the Harrogate Advertiser and many generous supporters, businesses and community associations who have not only travelled to Malawi to see our work but have volunteered their time back in the UK. Together we have transformed the lives of over 6,000 children in Malawi over the last 20 years.
