Our retail volunteers play a huge part in the running of our shops, and tasks can include:
> Serving customers using our till system
> Providing excellent customer service
> Keeping our shop clean, tidy, and presentable
> Accepting donations and processing Gift Aid
> Stock replenishment and culling
> Hanging, tagging, and steaming stock ready for sale
> Supporting the management team in the running of the shop
Some experience of working in Retail would be beneficial but not essential to us as full training is provided. What's really important to us is that you want to be part of our teams and come ready to share your individuals' skills and experiences. We do ask for a Willingness to follow Shelter's policies, including volunteering, health & safety, equality & diversity, confidentiality, and data protection.
We have volunteers who give a morning or afternoon each week, others who give a full day, and some who give multiple days a week - it's up to you!
To enable you to take part in this opportunity Shelter will:
> Provide you with a Volunteer Handbook and all relevant policies and procedures
> Provide learning including health and safety, data protection, and safeguarding
> Provide an on the job induction
> Refund any out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Volunteer Expenses Policy.
