Friends Of Harrogate Hospital
Description of the role:

The Friends of Harrogate Hospital were formed in 1966 to purchase equipment and facilities for Harrogate Hospitals. The volunteers have raised over £2.3m. It is a volunteer led organisation, it has no paid staff or offices.
We are currently looking for Trustees to join the Board and share their skills and experience to help us build up the organisation.
Board members are responsible for all the fundraising activities, working closely with the Hospital staff to identify equipment and facilities that would enhance the patient experience.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

We are looking for a variety of skills including fundraising, governance, finance, social media, medical/nursing knowledge and volunteer recruitment.
Board experience is not required as a full induction will be provided.

Practical information:

We meet around six or seven times per year. The day and time are under review.

The Friends of Harrogate Hospital were formed in 1966; our aim is to raise money to provide equipment and facilities for Harrogate Hospital, which could not be funded through the NHS budget, to enhance the patient experience,

In May 2023, the Charity Commission gave approval for us to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) demerging from Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity. The group are all volunteers and to date we have raised £2.3m. We have no staff or offices - every single penny raised is used to support our work.
