Make a difference just by being you
We are looking for volunteers to assist with the collection and distribution of stock between our Donation Centre and our five shops, and also collect donated items from households in the local area. If you’ve held a driving licence for over two years and feel comfortable driving a van we would love to hear from you.
There is no minimum time commitment that we expect from our volunteers so whether you can do a few hours a week or once a month, we’ll do our best to offer a role that fits in with your schedule. No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided.
What happens next?
If you decide to apply a member of the volunteering team will contact you and ask you to come in for an initial chat with the Donation Centre Manager. This is not an interview, just a chance to get an idea of how you'd like to help. From there you can meet the rest of the volunteer team and get involved in the area that interests you the most

What Skills Would I Need?
• a full driving licence - we are looking for a confident driver with good navigation skills who would be able to handle a van
• a considerate driver representing Yorkshire Cancer Research
• to be reasonably active – this role involves lots of lifting, bending and carrying
• the ability to communicate well with colleagues and members of the public
• the initiative to contribute in a helpful way as part of a team
• reliability and good time keeping
