Helping adults and children with disabilities to go horse riding. It aids their mobility, boosts their confidence and provides them with some much needed fun.
The role involves working with other volunteers, relatives and carers, principally by walking alongside the horses/ponies during rides to ensure the riders have a safe and enjoyable time.
Experience with horses is not needed as training will be given.
You can volunteer for as little as an hour a week. We have rides 6 days a week, morning, afternoon and evening, so there should be opportunities to suit most people.

Our aim is to provide opportunities for people with a wide range of disabilities to enjoy the unique benefits of horse riding and carriage driving. Follifoot Park Disabled Riders Group see disability as a starting point from which everyone can achieve something.
Our youngest riders can start from 2 years old and our eldest have been into their 80's! We also have use of a mechanical horse for those not as confident with the real thing. We have been established for over 30 years and continue to be run 100% by volunteers, totalling about 150.
