This is a fabulous role for anyone who would like to support people with dementia to continue to take part in hobbies and activities. Our hub clubs run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at our converted chapel in a village just outside Ripon - close to Knaresborough and Boroughbridge. The group take part in various activities including gardening, crafts, cake decorating, walking and life story work. The sessions are run by a member of Dementia Forward staff with the assistance of volunteers on a rota basis. There is no need to do every week, any time you can spare would be brilliant.
There are no specific skills or qualifications necessary other than an ability to show empathy for people living with dementia and their carers, but we would love to hear about the skills you have so that we can make sure you get the most out of your role.
The hub clubs run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and we are keen to hear from anyone who is available on any of these days. Please get in touch to find out more.
