Masham Community Volunteer
Mashamshire Community Office
Description of the role:

We could not survive without the time and energy of our volunteers but we always need more. We need admin help, marketing and social media promotion, help at the front desk with tourists, residents, selling tickets for local Town Hall events, publicising the Blue Light Gallery, selling merchandise and maps and assisting with the public use computers. We're also setting up a regular walking group that will leave from the Community Office, so if you love the outdoors and want to support people to explore the beautiful Masham countryside, this could be the opportunity for you! If you have the time and would like to volunteer at the Community Office, please get in touch.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

A sense of humour, willing to learn how the organisation operates. Computer literate would be a bonus.

Organisation Information

The community office is an independent charity working on behalf of Masham and surrounding villages to ensure our community is a lively, active, vibrant and supportive place to live, work and visit.
We support our community by being the centre of activities, information, new initiatives and collaborations that support the whole community – local residents, other community groups and local businesses.
We are the home of Acorns Pre-school Playgroup, the Clerk to Masham Parish Council, the Rural Community Constable and the Masham Community Library which is run by our team of volunteers. We are also the booking office for Masham Town Hall venue and events together with many other local events and activities. Our exhibition and retail space – Masham Flock, showcases the work of local artists and crafts people as well as providing another small but vital funding stream to keep the community office going.

Printing, photocopying, laminating services
Public access to a PC & Internet
