Harrogate Fair Trade
Description of the role:

Are you enthusiastic about fair trade and playing a part in readjusting the balance of justice in the world? We're looking for volunteers who can offer 2 hours a week to be an in-shop ambassador, staffing the shop and talking to customers about fair trade. You don't need experience in retailing but an interest in and enthusiasm for fair trade is vital. Volunteers are the face of the shop, serving and assisting customers and answering questions, with responsibility for the shop as a whole. You'll need to spend some time each week getting to know the stock and reading up about the story behind it, keeping the shop looking its best at the same time. N.B. This is a role that you'll do alone, as there's usually just one volunteer in the shop at any time but you'll be invited to training sessions and get togethers where you'll meet other volunteers.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

To be pleasant, friendly and enthusiastic about fair trade, with a desire to provide good customer service and keep learning.
