Our HADCA Impact Report gives some examples of how we have helped and connected communities, charities and volunteers over the last year.
Connecting and collaborating underpins all our work and supports the delivery of three further themes: supporting local community and social action, 'Where To Turn' local information services and helping people stay safe and well at home supported by volunteers.
Here are just some examples of the work we have been doing -
- Supported 112 organisations to recruit volunteers for 297 different roles
- Connected 170 people at 12 network meetings
- Kept over 1,000 community contacts and local organisations informed and up to date with our weekly e-bulletins
- Promoted over 700 services and activities supporting wellbeing in our Where To Turn Directory
Our HELP team
- Carried out 3,829 practical tasks to help those isolating or shielding
- Responded to over 5,000 calls requesting support
- Supported 144 people by making regular befriending calls
- Involved 459 new volunteers actively supporting local people to live independently
Growing local giving is vital for the future sustainability of our local voluntary and community sector. It has been brilliant to work with our partners Two Ridings Community Foundation and Harrogate Borough Council on the continued development of THE LOCAL FUND, with £37,850 given to local projects in 2020-21. We have also supported THE LOCAL LOTTO which has raised over £160,000 for local good causes since it launched in 2018.
