Here at Artizan we are looking for a part time Cook/café manager, who can run our site in Harrogate town centre and manage a small team there to include volunteers and members with learning disabilities.
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and very high quality food, so a love of food and building a rapport with customers is essential! We are a new and exciting addition to the town offering a modern South-American themed menu, all freshly prepared with an emphasis on sustainability, fair trade and ethical processes.
Any applicant must be happy to manage a diverse team with a range of skills and abilities.
The role will require you to be confident in preparing food, including hot simple meals, salads, sandwiches and bakes. Full training will be provided on working with people with disabilities, preparing our menu and processes but previous kitchen experience is essential.
The cook/café manager will be responsible for food preparation, ordering of ingredients and packaging, opening and closing the café, and ultimately responsible for the smooth day to day running with excellent customer service at the forefront of everything that they do.
You will be primarily accountable for nurturing and training the skills of the cafe team.
You will report directly to our programmes officer who will guide all your procedures and responsibilities and be your line manager.
Although only part time of between 16 - 32 hrs a week, Ideally an applicant must be able to cover holidays for the other part time cafe manager/cook meaning occasionally full time hours with plenty of notice.
