Ripon Community Head Space (RiCHeS)
Founded in January 2019 Ripon Community Head Space (RiCHeS) is a peer-led mental health and wellbeing support group. Members have or who are experiencing mental distress meet in a supported and recovery focussed environment. While there is no single definition of recovery, many mental health service providers use the “recovery model” to help build the resilience of people with mental health problems, to support their identity and self-esteem, move forward, set new goals, and take part in relationships and activities that are meaningful.
RiCHeS meets every week on Friday from 10am to 1pm in St Wilfrid's community Centre. Membership of the group is open to individuals over 18.
The members are developing activities including preparing shared meals, taking part in group activities and mindfulness colouring. We are supported by a number of volunteers; most are experienced in supporting people who have experienced mental distress.
