Job Description: 

You will be joining an organisation that is vibrant, caring, innovative and responsive and you will be playing an important role in enabling us to provide our highly valued services to people with disabilities in Harrogate, Ecuador and Peru.
You need to be a team player who can work under their own initiative and be able to manage their tasks independently. A can do attitude with competent Google platform and QuickBooks.
The role is predominantly office based in Harrogate and on an occasional working from home basis. Hours can also be flexible, with a maximum of 18 hours per week.
We would like someone who can commit to working for us long term.

This will include but not limited to
Skills/Requirements:
● Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role - 5 Years
● Proficient in using QuickBooks and spreadsheets
● Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, experience in the charity sector would be useful.
● Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
● Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, but also a team player
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
● Good understanding of VAT especially as it applies to Charities
● Familiarity with Partial Exemption Scheme calculations would be particularly helpful
● Accountancy experience/qualifications desirable.

Job Responsibilities but not limited to :
● Maintain up to date books of account on our QuickBooks accounting system including the accurate posting of transactions and the uploading of supporting evidence to the system.
● Completion of month end routines including journal adjustments and reallocations from our till systems and sales platforms
● Complete monthly Bank Reconciliations
● Preparation of Monthly Financial Reports including a covering narrative and briefing for the management team
● Maintain KPI financial data for Trustees
● Provide Financial Reports as required for Trustee meetings
● Preparation and submission (using MTD) of our quarterly VAT Return including Partial Exemption Scheme calculations
● Maintaining restricted and unrestricted funds records
● Provide Financial Reports in order to support Grant applications
● Contribute to the development of the Financial Controls of the organisation
● Complete Year end routines including Accruals and adjustments such as Stock to enable the timely completion of the Final Accounts for submission to Charity Commission
● Assist with submitting year end accounts to charities commission
