Harrogate Theatre wants everyone to experience the magic of pantomime and has a variety of adapted performances available to fulfil your wish of every member of your group having a fabulous time. From relaxed to captioned, socially distanced to audio described we’ve got the right show for you.  

Captioning is like subtitles for the stage. It really helps if you use subtitles on tv or find you miss some of the dialogue when you attend live performances. Box office can book the best seats for you to have a clear sight of one of the captioning boxes or look for the italic i symbol on the stalls seats when booking online. The captioned Aladdin dates are Sunday 11 December at 12 noon or Thursday 29 December at 5pm.  

We have BSL interpretation from Richard Jackson on Saturday 10th December at 12noon and Saturday 7 January at 12noon. Box office can book the best seats for you to have a clear sight of the interpreter or look for the italic i symbol on the stalls seats if booking online.  

We have audio description on Saturday 10th December at 12noon and Friday 30th December at 12noon from Emma Tugman and Vicky Ackroyd who paint a fun aural picture with words so everyone can laugh at the visual gags and vibrancy of the show.  Call Box Office on 01423 502 116 to book a free pre-show familiarisation tour on our audio described shows where your group can feel props and costume from the show to enhance the descriptions. Pick up a headset from Box Office when you arrive to experience the audio description which starts 15 minutes before the show. 

If you or someone in your group would prefer to attend a performance that has more space between audience members or if you’ve not returned to theatre since the pandemic you might like our socially distanced performances on Sunday 27th November at 5pm or Sunday 8 January at 5pm. Perhaps you know a pre-school child who you’d like to treat to their first experience of theatre or pantomime and you’re nervous about how they will respond to the noise and lights? Or a member of your group has additional needs? Then the relaxed shows on Friday 16 December at 12noon or Wednesday 11 January at 10am with low lighting on throughout, quieter sound levels and a reduced capacity might be the ideal show for your group.
