We’re looking for special people to join our small and hard-working team dedicated to supporting charities, volunteers and communities across the Harrogate District.
Harrogate Community House Property Manager
This is an exciting opportunity to take forward the management and development of Harrogate Community House and support the work of our charity generally.
We seek a proactive manager with excellent communication skills and previous experience of managing property, not just bricks and mortar but also the other resources we need to successfully run our charity, including equipment and related contracts etc.
You will be focussed on ensuring that Harrogate Community House provides a safe and welcoming environment for our tenants and visitors and skilful in working with people from all walks of life.
You will need to be highly organised, with flexibility and adaptability required to provide a first-class service to our staff, tenants and visitors. This will range from washing up and answering the phone to liaising with contractors and managing budgets and leases.
The part time post is permanent subject to funding and to start ASAP. Closing date 9am 15 March.
Service Support Worker (Handyperson)
We need a very special kind of Handyman or Handywoman to join our charity’s gardening, decorating and DIY service.
As part of the HELP Team, the Service Support Worker, assisted by volunteers, completes work in the home and garden for people not in a position to do these tasks themselves.
Since no two days are ever the same and plans often have to change at short notice, you will need an open-minded, friendly and unflappable approach and a proven interest and skills in gardening, decorating and DIY.
You also need to be able to drive our van to visit people in their homes across the whole of the Harrogate District.
This part time post is permanent subject to funding. NEW Closing date 9am 12 April.

As part of our HELP Team, you will be using your excellent interpersonal, organisational and IT skills to make arrangements with clients and our team of volunteers who are doing shopping and running a range of errands as well as driving people to essential appointments. You will have a patient, friendly and empathetic approach, ensure excellent customer care and thrive on meeting the challenges of last-minute changes of plan.
These part time posts (one based in Ripon and one based in Harrogate) are for a fixed term from April 2021 to 30th September 2021. Closing date 9am 18 March.
