Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, HADCA has been supporting people in Harrogate and Ripon to help them stay safe and well at home. We recruited hundreds of volunteers who were able to spare a couple of hours a week (or more or less) to look out for people in our communities struggling without local family and friends to support them.
Our fantastic team of Here to HELP volunteers carried out over 8,000 tasks for those isolating or shielding and over 6,000 hours of volunteering at the vaccination centres in Harrogate & Ripon .
Our team is making a real difference to the lives of local people and we have been busy supporting people who are now going out and about again, reconnecting with their communities.
If you're over 18 years of age you can sign up at the links below to become a Here To Help Volunteer. Thank you - we will be in touch soon.

In other parts of Harrogate District, local hubs Masham Community Office, Nidderdale Plus , Boroughbridge Community Care and Chain Lane Community Hub are the community anchor organisations recruiting volunteers.
Many other local charities also need people to give time. Take a look at our HADCA Volunteering Directory to see the range of roles available, find something to match your interests and availability and make an enquiry to the organisation needing volunteers to find out more.
We also have a new initiative called Help Out Harrogate which offers local people the chance to volunteer at a variety of one-off events without the need to make any regular commitment.
