This Spring and Summer we are working with our partners to bring funding opportunities to local charities and community groups in Harrogate district
Enter the Dragons' Den!
Is your community group brave enough to enter the Dragons’ Den? (It's not nearly as scary as it sounds!)
Our partner Two Ridings Community Foundation is inviting local groups based in the Harrogate District to take part in a Dragons’ Den style event to secure a donation for their organisation and to showcase the vital work of smaller charities and community groups in the Harrogate district. Groups invited to present will also be offered the chance to make a small film to introduce their work which we hope will also be something useful that can help groups promote their work after the event. Expressions of Interest need to be submitted by 30 April. Find out more
Refreshing the Vital Signs report workshop
In May we are inviting local groups to join us at a workshop to review and update the Harrogate District Vital Signs Report. The report drives the giving from THE LOCAL FUND. The first report was published autumn 2017 and now needs updating to inform the 2019 distribution of LOCAL FUND grants. We are asking organisations to share intelligence and insights to make sure the report is as accurate as possible and reflects the real needs and issues our communities face in 2019. Find out more
Free Funding Workshops
We are holding free workshops at both Harrogate Community House and Ripon Community House to support groups applying for funds, including a grant from THE LOCAL FUND in 2019. These sessions are designed to help applicants in presenting a strong case for support and familiarise them with the Harrogate District Vital Signs report. This will help to increase knowledge of the issues and challenges facing people across our district. The workshops, delivered by our partners at Two Ridings Community Foundation, will also cover other topics such as full cost recovery and help local groups to gain skills and understanding of tackling grant application forms generally. Book your place in Harrogate or Ripon.
THE LOCAL FUND opens for applications on 1 July
Please make a note in your diary to join us at a special event that afternoon hosted by Ripon Cathedral to mark this occasion and also celebrate the first anniversary of THE LOCAL LOTTO, which is a source of funding for THE LOCAL FUND. The launch event will be at 1.00 p.m. and light refreshments will be served from 12.30 p.m in the beautiful setting of the cathedral. Please book your place so that we know numbers for the event.
