Remembering Errol

Remembering Errol

Today we remembered Errol Levine, our much-loved Community House Manager, and joined with Errol’s family and friends to celebrate his life.

It was a good life and Errol was a special person. He was so kind and always determined to do the right thing, especially for anybody who may have needed a little extra help.

Errol retired as Harrogate Community House Manager in 2018 on a special birthday – at the age of 80! Before looking after the building and our Community House family for 15 years, Errol had been involved for many years with the local voluntary sector. He was appointed as the first Manager of Ripon Volunteer Centre and made a great success of this role, in spite of having no previous voluntary sector experience, other than being “Father Christmas” at Lead Hall Grange! During Errol’s time at Ripon CVS, he supported Ripon Community Link with volunteering and developed a special interest in working with people with a learning disability. Errol went on to start the charity Time Together in Harrogate.

We miss Errol, his smile, his kindness, his many interesting tales of his earlier days and family.

Thank you for making a difference Errol.
