Thank you to all members, friends, partners and supporters who joined us at our 2023 AGM at Christ Church Parish Centre, Harrogate to look back over a year of change and new positive partnerships.

We're delighted that Helen Bourner, James Plummer and Victoria Pilkington were re-elected to the Board of Trustees to serve a further term.
Frances reviewed the year for HADCA and our presentation highlighted achievements in both our community action and frontline community services work. Everything we do is underpinned by our commitment to connecting and collaborating to support people whatever challenges they face.
We shared how our new partnership projects Community Fit and Volunteering City of Ripon are boosting volunteering, making a positive impact, and how our dedicated HELP (Harrogate Easier Living Project) staff teams and volunteers based in Harrogate and Ripon continue to provide both practical and emotional support, making a real difference for people who don't know where else to turn.

Karen explained the research project in Harrogate town area that we are undertaking for North Yorkshire Council's Community Anchor Organisation network. We are looking at neighbourhoods in the town, identifying the connections, hubs, relationships and trusted people and places in these communities.
Our HADCA Impact Report gives examples of how we have made a positive difference in Harrogate District over the last year. We hope to demonstrate how the actions of our amazing volunteers and staff team feed in to creating a stronger local community where people are able to access activities, services, advice or connections, enabling them to lead fulfilling and active lives and make a positive contribution to local community life, in line with our vision.
We all face a challenging year ahead, but we are here to listen to people to understand new or changing needs as they develop and to support people and communities however we can in the coming months. Learning from our new partnership projects and capitalising on the legacy of our fantastic vaccination volunteers, we are also launching 'Help Out Harrogate' offering one off volunteering roles supporting charity events and community activities.

A massive thank you to our wonderful volunteer team from Crowne Plaza Harrogate for their fantastic support at the meeting. It was lovely to have them along and they worked so hard setting up, serving drinks and clearing up with smiles on their faces. We didn’t have to worry about anything with such a skilled team involved!
