Our HADCA Impact Report gives some examples of how we have helped and connected communities, charities and volunteers in 2021-2022.
Connecting and collaborating underpins all our work and supports the delivery of three further themes: supporting local community and social action, 'Where To Turn' local information services and helping people stay safe and well at home supported by volunteers.
Here are just some examples of the work we have been doing -
- Supported 103 organisations to recruit volunteers for 247 different roles
- Connected 141 people at 13 network meetings
- Kept over 1,000 community contacts and local organisations informed and up to date with our weekly e-bulletins
- Promoted over 800 services and activities supporting wellbeing in our Where To Turn Directory
Our HELP team
- Carried out 2,043 shopping trips and prescription collections
- Responded to over 8,700 calls requesting support
- Provided 2,045 hours of practical support
- Made 4,191 journeys to help people get out and about
- Gave 4,275 hours of support to vaccination centres
Growing local giving is vital for the future sustainability of our local voluntary and community sector. It has been brilliant to work with our partners Two Ridings Community Foundation and Harrogate Borough Council on the continued development of THE LOCAL FUND, with £46,831 given to local projects in 2021-22. We have also supported THE LOCAL LOTTO which has raised over £200,000 for local good causes since it launched in 2018.
Our work would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteers. Thank you to everyone who has supported HADCA during the year.
