We’re looking for someone special to bring an exciting volunteering project to life in and around the city of Ripon.
The Ripon community depends on its volunteers; we need an experienced volunteer manager to lead an innovative partnership project to ensure there are enough.
This new post is a fixed term contract for 18 months and a really exciting opportunity to make a positive difference.
You will be leading the Volunteering City of Ripon project, part of the prestigious Heritage Lottery funded Skell Valley Project led by the National Trust Fountains Abbey Studley Royal and Nidderdale AONB.
One of the themes of the Skell Valley Project is about empowering people to deliver projects for nature, heritage and landscape by supporting them in learning the skills they need and removing current barriers that stop people accessing the outdoors and nature around them.
Within this theme the Volunteering City of Ripon project will foster a shared approach to recruiting, training, managing and supporting volunteers which makes all our organisations more impactful, sustainable and inclusive.
You will have 18 months to boost Ripon’s reputation as a volunteering city, ensuring top class volunteering experiences and encouraging a really diverse range of people to give their time and skills. You will work with the many voluntary organisations in the area to foster a shared and exemplary approach to involving volunteers.
You will need to have a proven track record of innovating, leading and developing volunteering programmes and experience of planning and delivering market research activities. Most importantly you will have excellent people skills in order to create a friendly and welcoming project and to build strong relationships with partners.
