Become a Here to Help Volunteer

Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, HADCA has been supporting people in Harrogate and Ripon to help them stay safe and well at home. We've been recruiting volunteers who are able to spare a couple of hours a week (or more or less) to look out for people in our communities struggling without local family and friends to support them.

So far our fantastic team of Here to HELP volunteers have carried out over 8,000 tasks including food shopping or prescription pick ups for those isolating or shielding.

Our team is making a real difference to people in our community and we have been busy over the last few months recruiting more people to help, including people who are willing to be volunteer drivers, as we have re-started this service for appointments.

If you're over 18 years of age, healthy and not at high risk  (see NHS guidelines ) you can sign up at the links below to become a Here To Help Volunteer assisting with shopping, prescription collection and other tasks or become a volunteer driver or a befriender in the Ripon area. Thank you - we will be in touch soon.

Here are some  other ways that you could consider supporting your community

Many local charities need people to give time, not just now, but in the future. Take a look at our HADCA Volunteering Directory to see the range of roles available and to enquire. But please bear in mind that services offered will often be changing because of the outbreak and new guidance.

You can find some general advice regarding community involvement during this time on our Looking out for your neighbours and staying safe page
