
Ripon YMCA are seeking a proactive Youth Worker to support the delivery of a wide range of projects and sessions including:
- Park based activities in summer Craft and arts sessions
- Drop in information and advice
- Wellbeing activities for young adults
- Fun activities in the school holidays
- Health and Wellbeing guidance and activities
- Youth Voice and Youth Representation activities
- Supporting Young Volunteers and Young Leaders projects
Our goals are to increase young peoples confidence and resilience, develop skills for living, and ensure that young people have someone to talk to, something to do and somewhere to go. You will work as part of a small team of staff and volunteers who are creative, reflective and enthusiastic.
You will have some relevant and recent experience of working with young people and young adults, ideally in a charity. No day will be the same and you will be required to support sessional workers and help develop our volunteer team.
An ability to develop positive and supportive professional relationships with young people is essential and experience of delivering workshops would be advantageous. Our work is often with those young people who are facing barriers or experiencing challenges so the ability to reflect, adapt and be proactive is essential.
The role requires that the successful candidate be expected to work after school into the early evening. We can offer this role as a 15 hour post up to full time at 37 hours.
