Job Description: 

We are seeking an Overseas Director to join our senior leadership team in overseeing our charitable objectives and mission to transform the lives of people with disabilities and the attitudes of those in our communities through social enterprise and crafts skills training.
Our ideal Candidate will have held a similar role and bring experience and knowledge to our team as we secure and uphold our current projects and plan strategically for growth.

24 hrs a week to be worked flexibly to allow for time difference interlocks with project leaders in Latin America. 

Essential Criteria:

●    Demonstrate experience leading corporate or social enterprise projects
●    Experience of designing and delivering strategies to increase charitable income and secure funding across multiple channels for overseas projects and core costs 
●    Experience of Leadership and management of (preferably overseas) operations to deliver project outlines
●    Evidence of formulating and delivering training.
●    Experience of multi-channel marketing, design, merchandising and sales/retail
●    Experience of developing and delivering high value fundraising events and activities
●    Evidence of leadership of an organisation across multiple projects and countries
●    Strategic communications such as marketing, crisis management and cultural sensitivities
●    Language skills to effectively manage overseas teams in Latin American countries
●    A Strategic thinker that can adapt and act quickly to changes on the ground within projects
●    An understanding of regulatory laws and processes to lead a charitable organisation
●    A proven track record of exceptional leadership of teams, of building teams and motivating colleagues
●    Experience of forecasts and budgets and project scoping for projects
●    Experience of report writing and record keeping for large scale projects either UK or overseas
●    A passion for building strong governance, policies and procedures.
●    As well as leadership and vision we need a completer finisher who will follow through with tasks and projects to ensure robust management systems are in place and followed
●    A collaborative and team-player approach to working with fellow directors and trustees.
●    Excellent written English and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:

●    Ability to bring existing relationships with donors interested in supporting the work of Artizan
●    An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and working with people with disabilities
●    Experience of working for an international NGO or Charity
●    An understanding of the complexities of grant funded projects and restrictive funding
●    A problem-solving mindset and ability to take initiative and think outside the box.
●    Experience of product design and manufacture for either business or social enterprise.
●    Experience of fair trade principles
●    A track record of relevant experience in government, non-profit, charity or relevant sector.
●    Demonstrated ability to lead,manage and inspire remote teams to create positive results.
●    Gravitas to confidently engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
●    Determined, enthusiastic and proactive ‘can do’ attitude.
●    Ability to work productively and positively with people at all levels and from all backgrounds.
●    Resilient, a self-starter and a team player.
●    Cultural sensitivity of overseas projects in Latin America or similar
●    Experience of contributing to the leadership of a charitable organisation across multiple projects and countries
●    Experience of grant writing, impact report writing and record keeping for charity/social enterprise projects either UK or overseas
●    Experience of creative design and product development
