This year local charities and community groups are never more needed. It is time to celebrate their achievements, thank all our amazing volunteers and work together to make sure our small but vital charities are still here to help our communities in the future.

Sadly the Harrogate & District Volunteering Oscars 2020 has been cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions. However Oscars organiser John Fox would like you to please make a note in your diary to look forward to next year: the date is Friday 29 October 2021.

This year our volunteers have never been more needed. We would like you to join us to say ‘thank you’ and to celebrate the achievements of all our volunteers across the Harrogate District.

At our HADCA AGM we will share a presentation featuring some of the many volunteers across our district who have made a real difference this year. As well as people giving time as part of the local community emergency response to Covid19, we would also like to acknowledge volunteers of other organisations who were very active up to March, but have had to take a pause from volunteering these last few months, or who have been supporting charities in many different ways.

What you need to do:
 
If you would like to join us to say thank you to your volunteers please:

•    Email one or two photos of your volunteers (with permission to share as below), your charity logo and a few words to volunteer@hadca.org.uk by 5th October.  (Photos at least 1MB file size if possible please.) 
•    The photos will only be used by HADCA in this celebration of volunteering but may also be published by local media partner of the Harrogate District Volunteering Oscars, the Harrogate Advertiser series.

There are no categories or ‘winners’ – everyone giving time this year is a winner!

If your local charity or community group is celebrating a Special Anniversary this year, please email one or two photos and your logo (as per the instructions above) and as well as being part of the event on 15th October you will also be invited to next year’s Oscars Awards Ceremony to celebrate again with us!
