Where to Turn

The Ostrich Foundation

The Ostrich Foundation exists to work with and support other charities and NHS agencies helping reduce the number of young people who take their own lives, by shattering the stigma around suicide and helping remove the word ‘committed’ from common vocabulary.
Our aim is to work with other charities to help equip young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.
The Ostrich Foundation believes that many young suicides are preventable.
We believe that no one should have to go through the heartbreak and everlasting pain of losing a loved one to suicide.
We believe that everyone can play a role in helping to raise awareness of the issue of young suicide.
The Ostrich Foundation is a new charity started in 2018. We are already gaining exposure in Yorkshire and have raised a substantial fund for helping established organisations providing support preventing suicides in young people.
We are currently working closely with Papyrus and have nominated them as the support organisation we will be helping fund over the coming year.
