Healthwatch North Yorkshire

The independent champion for people who use health and social care services across North Yorkshire. They are here to make sure that those running services, put people at the heart of care.

Their purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services and to speak out on their behalf.

They perform 3 main functions:

• Acting as an information and signposting point for members of the public who need support with queries about, or issues with, health and social care services.
• Logging and monitoring the feedback received from the public, and information received from providers and regulators, about health and social care services.
• Using the above intelligence as a means to run research projects, campaigns and observational “Enter & View” visits of service premises (which they publicly report on) across the county.
