Carers' Time Off @ Carers' Resource

Carers' Time Off provides a short break service to carers' in the district of Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and the surrounding villages. The service gives carers of a partner, family member or friend, the opportunity to have a break from their caring commitments. Volunteers on average spend 2 to 4 hours a week with the client (either in the home or taking out somewhere) whilst the carer takes some time out. Following referrals the Co-Ordinator/Manager will contact the carer and arrange a visit to assess their needs. A volunteer will then be placed as soon as possible and will be closely matched with the family taking into account the needs and expectations of all involved. Personal care and hands on support is not provided.
