Harrogate and North Yorkshire Stroke Friendship Group
Our group is run by and for people with Aphasia to support people with language-loss following stroke, head injury or a neurological condition.
At our meetings we support each other, share experiences, make new friends, rebuild self-confidence and develop new skills. We do not provide therapy.
We practise total communication using words, drawing, pictures and gesture. We all understand Aphasia and encourage each other in our recovery.
We relax and have fun. We raise awareness of Aphasia in our local community and raise funds to support our group meetings, activities and outings. The group meets on the first Tuesday at each month at 2pm. New members welcome, partners and carers.
