We offer everyone a free online home fire safety check to ensure their home is safe. You can complete it yourself at https://www.safelincs.co.uk/hfsc/?ref=NYFRS If you are unable to complete it online you can contact our reception team on 01609 780 150 who will ask you the same questions and fill the questionnaire in for you over the telephone.

Depending on your answers to the Online Home Fire Safety Check we will offer you a free Home Fire Safety Visit. This is a person-centred visit to your home by either our operational staff on a fire engine or by our specialist fire prevention team. The visit involves a look at you, your home and the behaviours undertaken within your home. All our information is just guidance, but it will help you reduce the risk and severity of a fire.

A Home Fire Safety Visit will identify potential fire risks in your home, provide information about bedtime routines to help keep you safe at night, help you create a robust escape plan, we will check and if necessary provide smoke alarms in your property and make sure you know how to test them.

As part of our visits we can also give advice about health and wellbeing. This may include where to find support and further advice on giving up smoking, avoiding falls, keeping your home warm and living with dementia.

We will telephone you to book a convenient time to visit you at home. The visits normally last up to an hour and you can have a family member, friend or professional with you if you'd like to.
