Mind in Harrogate District - Counselling

Do you feel anxious, confused or angry? Have you suffered a loss? There may be many reasons why you feel you need to access some extra help other than talking to family and friends. Counselling will provide you with a safe, codnfidential, non-judgemental space to talk through difficult issues to identify and focus on your concerns, moving towards understanding, acceptance and a changed outlook on life. Counselling can help increase self-esteem and confidence, help to come to terms with past experiences, change unhelpful behaviour and improve communication.

At Mind in Harrogate our Counsellors work with people who are dealing with many different issues, such as anxiety, depression, work related problems, relationship issues and low self-esteem.

Our Counsellors are Volunteer Trainee Counsellors who are currently enrolled on courses that provide them with the qualification to become Counselling Practitioner. Our trainee counsellors attend regular supervision and they are supported by the Counselling Coordinator and their learning provider.

Counselling sessions are available five days a week between 10am and 7pm. Clients are offered 10 sessions initially and are invited to attend appointments on a weekly basis. The cost of counselling is determined by employment status and is charged at £40 (Full-time), £20 (Part-time) and £5 (Concessions). Our Counsellors work to the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

We do not currently offer group, couples, youth or remote counselling. At the moment there is a wait for Counselling support.

If you have any further questions or would like to pursue counselling with Mind in Harrogate District, please get in touch and we can arrange an appointment to check that we are the appropriate service to offer you support and discuss how best to move forward.
