Balance Wellness Centre (previously Yorkshire Yoga)

Founded in 2005 as Yorkshire Yoga we are a small, well established health and wellbeing charity based in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. We provide a variety of high-quality exercise, therapy and well-being activities from our fully accessible studio, across our community via outreach projects and now online. We believe the benefits of Yoga and Mindfulness should be available to all; irrespective of abilities, situation or finances when people need help the most. We tailor our classes to specific user groups encouraging everyone in the community to become involved; especially those who would not normally consider Yoga and Mindfulness as a route to physical / mental health and wellbeing.

Our service offer includes specialist support such as Pregnancy, Postnatal and Mother and Baby Yoga, Chair Based Yoga (Disability and 60+), Gentle Years Yoga (60+), Able and Enabled Yoga (Wheelchair Users) as well as a plethora of other classes such as Pilates, Fitness Dance, Hatha and Iyengar Yoga, Sun Power Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Mindful Movement and Tai Chi to name but a few.

By tailoring our support to be easily accessible for everyone in our community we seek to empower you to look after your own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It is our mission to address health inequalities and improve the everyday lives of our patrons by providing the opportunity to build friendships, support networks and a community with like-minded people.

Please see our website for more information on classes available and prices or get in touch to find out about our funded programmes.
