Knaresborough Lions Club

Local Lions Clubs are autonomous members of Lions International, with over 20,000 clubs in 160 countries, whose motto is ''We Serve''. It is the world's largest voluntary organisation. Each club serves its own local community but clubs come together on a regional, national and international basis to serve the needy, the sick and people with disabilities worldwide. No money raised from the public may be used for club or association administration. Discussions at club meetings may not include business, politics or sectarian religion. The sole criterion for giving assistance is a demonstrated need and the club's ability to meet it. Membership is by invitation, which is extended to those willing to have the necessary commitment to community service.
