Just B Children and Young Peoples’ Bereavement Support

Just ‘B’ exists to ensure people living in the Harrogate district get the professional support and information they need to cope with bereavement.
Just ‘B’ offers support services to children and young people who have been bereaved, as well as information and advice for professionals working with them. The service is suitable for people experiencing any type of bereavement, including suicide, road traffic accident or terminal illness.

For a child or young person we offer help before, during and after the death of their significant person. We are responsive to people’s faith, individuality, culture and community. The team are experienced in helping children and young people who are coming to terms with the fact that someone close to them is dying.

The Children and Young People services operates Monday to Friday, with after school sessions Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We also offer a Saturday morning service.

Just ‘B’ is one of a range of services offered by Saint Michael’s, the registered charity helping people in the Harrogate district to live with terminal illness and bereavement.
It costs £4.4million a year to maintain services and we currently receive a £660,000 grant from the NHS. This means our ability to help people who are bereaved and the professionals who care for them depends heavily on the generosity of the public.
