Description of the role:

Initially meeting by zoom with other cancer champions to steer the project Cancer SMART. Volunteers may wish to help at events on stalls, talk to groups of people either face to face or online.
Volunteers may wish to take part in a podcast (online).

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Some one who has had cancer, or who has a loved one who has received a cancer diagnosis, or who works in cancer services

Practical information:

Meetings are every 6-8 weeks and are online

The Yorkshire Cancer Community is a patient-led charity offering a voice to those affected by cancer in Yorkshire and the Humber.
It is free to join and provides information and support including a website with an A – Z of cancer charities and organisations, opportunities to join patient and carer panels, focus groups, research projects, conferences and training.
We also offer a regular newsletter, an online support group and a cancer awareness project in which volunteers help promote positive health messages.
