Delivering nutritious, fresh, and delicious hot or cold meals to vulnerable or socially isolated elderly clients in the community around Harrogate and Knaresborough. Food Angels volunteers are vital to operate this extremely important service. Often our elderly clients spend their days alone, and our Food Angels are a source of light and happiness when arriving on their doorsteps!
Food Angels collect meals from The Cuttings where our kitchen facilities are, deliver meals with the use of their own cars to our wonderful clients, carry out short wellbeing checks, and update the Hospitality Coordinator on any client queries or concerns.
We are looking for volunteers predominantly on a Monday and Wednesday lunch time.
Timings for deliveries are collection at 11.30am and usually returned to The Cuttings site by 1pm.
Come and join our wonderful team of Angels, if you can spare even just one lunch time per week!

Basic DBS will be provided by the organisation
A caring and bubbly personality to brighten the days of all our clients.
Deliveries take around 1.5 hours depending on traffic.
There will be a DBS check which will be carried out at the office at The Cuttings.
DBSs are paid for by the organisation.
Mileage is paid at 45p per mile!

HNHA is a not-for-profit organisation with charitable status, providing affordable quality care services for elderly people across the Harrogate District and the neighbouring boroughs.
Services are tailored to individual needs; from simply delivering a freshly prepared hot meal every day, right through to providing round-the-clock care in residential homes: The Cuttings & Heath Lodge.
Our restaurant, The Dining Car, is open from 12pm – 1.30pm for Lunch & 4.30pm – 6pm for Dinner. It is open to the public as well as tenants and staff. Our catering team provide nutritious, well-balanced lunches and dinners seven days a week.
