Organisation Information

During the coronavirus outbreak, the Hostel remains open. Springboard Day Centre is open Monday – Friday for rough sleepers only for laundry, food, shower and specific support needs. People who are vulnerably housed are kept in touch with by phone in case support is needed and food and medication can be then delivered.

Harrogate Homeless Project is a registered charity dedicated to supporting homeless people in the Harrogate District. We’re a team of committed individuals, who want to make sure that homeless people have the strategies, support and services that are needed to begin the difficult journey back to truly independent living.

We run a homeless hostel on Bower Street, which houses 16 people and provides immediate shelter for rough sleepers accessing our No Second Night Out scheme.

We also run a day service called Springboard in Harrogate town centre, providing food, shower facilities, activities and one-on-one meetings with support workers that are designed to help rough sleepers get the help and advice that they need to get back on their feet.

Our team are an incredibly friendly bunch, and possess the knowledge and expertise needed to offer multifaceted support to homeless people from all walks of life - irrespective of background, history or special needs. Our focus will always be on helping people to achieve access to sustainable independence.

If you are rough sleeping for the first time, and think you could benefit from our No Second Night Out scheme, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, by either using the referral form on our website or calling us on 01423 566900.
If you know someone who is rough sleeping, you can also get in touch in the same ways. Doing so will allow us to help them avoid rough sleeping for more than one night, and could well help them on the path back to safe and secure living.

Please note, due to the difficulties surrounding COVID-19, we are unable to train up new volunteers. As part of our COVID risk management, we are limiting the number of individuals visiting our premises to allow for social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19 to such a vulnerable group. Once it is safe for us to do so, we will recommence with volunteer recruitment, however the nature of COVID-19 means we are unable to provide any timescales.
