Race for Life & Pretty Muddy Volunteer 2022

Race for Life & Pretty Muddy Volunteer 2022
Cancer Research UK
Description of the role:

VOLUNTEER WITH CANCER REASEARCH UK AT OUR EVENTS THIS SUMMER!

After a year where vital cancer trials have been delayed, the Race for Life is more important than ever. Volunteering as a group is a great way to get back out there and reconnect , whilst playing a vital role in beating cancer sooner.

We simply couldn’t make these events possible without the help of volunteers.

Your local event:
Harrogate Race for Life and Pretty Muddy 2022 10th July.

There is also the Scarborough: Race for Life 2022 on 18th May.

1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. We all have a part to play in beating it. Sign up to volunteer at an event today and together we will beat cancer.

What you’ll be doing
• Helping set-up and pack down the event - This might include the course, signage, banners and marquees and getting water to the finish line.
• Support on the course - You could be located at one of our marshal points, cheering and encouraging our participants to keep them going along the course, or at the finish point handing out the well-deserved bottle of water and medal.
• Answering queries at our information points - You'll help answer queries from participants and spectators during the event. From simple directions to processing on-the-day entries, swapping t-shirts and replacing runner numbers

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

We’re on the lookout for people who are
• Enthusiastic and willing to get stuck in.
• Willing to get their hands dirty (literally at our Pretty Muddy events but trust us, it’s great fun!)
• Flexible and who can use their own initiative.
• Team players – you’ll be joining a lovely bunch of other volunteers!
• Good communicators.

Practical information:

Times are in Harrogate: 08:30 or 11:30 – 16:00
and in Scarborough: 16:00 - 22:00
