Care Farm Volunteer

Care Farm Volunteer
Corn Close Care Farm
Description of the role:

If you love animals and being outdoors, this is the role for you!

We provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to come and get involved with caring for all of our animals, ranging from guinea pigs to horses and to spend time outdoors in the beautiful Nidderdale countryside.

If you have a skill or a passion in life, you may be able to share it with our visitors.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

You do not need any specific qualifications for this role, but should have a genuine interest in helping people of all ages.

Experience of working with/caring for animals and people would be helpful.

You will need to be kind, calm and patient and be able to cope with being outside in adverse weather conditions for long periods of time!

You will need to be physically fit, as we are often walking on uneven ground out in the fields and can spend a lot of time on our feet.

Practical information:

Most of our volunteers commit to at least 2 hours per week, but this is negotiable.

We will provide training and you will be made aware of all of our risk assessments and policies etc.

There is a regular bus service from Harrogate to Pateley Bridge and it is about a 10-15 minute walk to Corn Close form Pateley Bus station.

We will have a meeting and informal chat with potential volunteers and then we require all of our volunteers to have an enhanced DBS check and will ask for 2 references.
