Description of the role:

Harrogate Theatre is seeking two new Trustees to help drive our return to presenting a full programme of work live on stages across Harrogate. You will be dynamic, resourceful and share our passion for presenting the best artistic work to audiences from across the district, as well as working with communities to make a meaningful and ongoing impact through culture.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Board members at Harrogate Theatre oversee the company’s strategy, finances, operations and governance, working with the outstanding artistic and operational company management and leadership. Our new Trustees will have a passion for culture and have the confidence and ability to become part of an experienced and highly motivated board guiding Harrogate Theatre’s future.

Of particular interest will be candidates with skills and experience in:

• Artistic planning and delivery

• Education – formal and informal settings

• Community Relationships

No previous Board experience is required. A full induction will be provided.

Practical information:

Board meetings are held on weekday evenings six times a year, over Zoom and in person.

Organisation Information

Harrogate Theatre has two performance spaces (one mid-scale and one studio), which allow for producing and presenting theatre, dance, music and comedy. The organisation runs a vibrant education and outreach department that delivers throughout the District
As well as producing an annual pantomime, the theatre supports artists to make their own work.
