One of our female residents is looking for a female companion to support her local community while enjoying good conversation and sharing interests, especially in arts and crafts.
Role Description
• To provide friendship and support to socialise within her community
• To assist resident to develop further social contacts including links with the local community, such as going out for coffee, shopping trips, bowling, cinema, general day trips out around the local area using public transport.
• To know or research what is happening within the local community, especially craft fairs and courses.
• To support with art and craft activities

This role will make a real difference to the life of another, volunteers will gain considerable personal satisfaction and confidence as well as experience in communication and community engagement suitable for many life skills and CV enhancement. All training will be given and expenses paid.

We are part of the Leonard Cheshire organisation which is a UK based charity. We are a residential home for 18 adults who have a range of physical disabilities situated in the heart of Wetherby. Our home is cheerful and friendly with many of our residents choosing to take part in a variety of activities and trips. We pride ourselves on supporting our residents to be independent and to take part in community activities if they wish.
