Description of the role:

If you get a kick out of organising events, have a knack with social media or simply want to work as a member of a team of volunteers building strength into our local community, please think about joining us?
Work with the other members of the Fundraising Team to raise vital funds
This may take one or more of the following forms:
• Work with local Friends of Citizens Advice to organise fundraising events and in particular identifying opportunities to raise the profile and so generate donations (open gardens, village halls, WI etc etc)
• Assist in grant applications to grant making trusts.
• Develop social media fundraising and/or awareness raising posts
• Attend local events to promote the cause.
• Create materials, such as newsletters or presentations, which can be used to raise the profile of the local Citizens Advice and for raising money
• Raise awareness of the contribution of local Citizens Advice to society and the help and support it gives to local people.
Complete an introduction to Citizens Advice and training for your role.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

You don’t need specific qualifications or skills but you’ll need to:
Be friendly, approachable and happy to be a member of a team.
Be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
Have a positive attitude towards fundraising
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have good IT skills or be prepared to learn.
Be familiar with social media or be prepared to learn.
Be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
Be willing to undertake training in your role

Practical information:

Up to about 1 day a week, timing will be flexible. During COVID-19 restrictions, this role will be based from home. You will probably be using your own IT kit and phone.
When restrictions allow this will be reviewed.
